ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER:
Bethany Simpson grew up in Klamath Falls, as a pastor's kid, wondering what God had in store. After graduating from KU, then George Fox, Bethany met her husband Craig, and the adventures began. Bethany and Craig spent 14 years working fast-paced jobs in New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Life wasn't simple. Bethany wanted to serve the Lord, but the path wasn't always obvious. And marriage was taking some figuring out. In each city they lived in, Bethany connected with other women to study the Bible and go deeper into what faith looked like in real life. Through the years, she served in various ministries, including Bible Study Fellowship, PAX TV Worship Network (as an on-air host), and writing and leading Bible studies for women's ministries. Kids came later than expected (but worth the wait!). While pregnant with their second child, they discovered Elijah would be born with Down Syndrome and needed heart surgery. Becoming a special needs family brought more meaning and joy than Bethany and Craig were expecting. Eight years ago, God opened the door for Bethany to return to Klamath Falls with her family. Today, Bethany is a local financial advisor. She also volunteers with Integral Youth Services (IYS) and counsels parents new to Down Syndrome.
